The night before, Saturday, June 30, there will be a special SiCKO 5th anniversary event with Michael Moore, Wendell Potter, and several of the subjects of his 2007 documentary from 7pm to 9pm (Details here). Prior to that, there will be a reception from 4pm to 6pm (Details here).

Everyone who already registered for the OPS Conference prior to June 11 have tickets being held for them for both Michael Moore events on Saturday. You are not required to reserve tickets online. However, we strongly suggest that you make a donation covering the registration fees for both events, by check, the day of.

Tickets are not guaranteed for anyone who registers from now on. Please make sure to reserve tickets online for both Michael Moore events online while they’re still available.

Registration Fee: $40. Registration fee covers meeting materials, breakfast, lunch, coffee/tea/water, and healthy snacks on Sunday, July 1. The registration fee will increase to $60 on June 10. No more registrations will be taken after June 25.

Hotel Reservations

The Holiday Inn Express, located at 1305 Walnut Street (2 blocks from the William Way Center), is giving us a group rate of $129 per room. Call 1-800-315-2621 reserve a room and mention you are calling to make a reservation in the “Healthcare-NOW block/group” to get the special rate. DO NOT reserve a room until you’ve been matched with a roommate if you want one. The hotel offers free wi-fi, breakfast bar, and gym.

Getting to the Hotel/Conference from the Airport

The Holiday Inn Express is located at 1305 Walnut Street in Center City Philadelphia. The conference is at 1315 Spruce street in Center City.

Taxi
Taxis have a flat rate of $28.50 from the airport to Center City Philadelphia

Shuttle/Van
Take the shuttle from the airport – $10.00/each way through Lady Liberty Shuttle service. Reservations are not required for airport arrivals. Service is available from 5:30 am until 12:00 midnight. Shuttles depart about every 10-15 minutes. Upon Arrival please proceed to the Ground Transportation Counter (located in Baggage Claim) – Register with the counter attendant (ticket number will be called when van arrives) See Lady Liberty Shuttle’s website for more information.

Wheelchair Accessible Transportation From Airport
Passengers with disabilities can make a reservation for airport pickup through Lady Liberty Shuttle by calling CCT Connect, a 24 hour service. The telephone number is 215-580-7700. See Lady Liberty Shuttle’s website for more information. The William Way Center is wheelchair accessible.

Train from Airport
Take SEPTA’s Airport Line to the Market East stop for $7 one way ($1 for senior citizens). The Market East station is about five blocks from the hotel and eight from the William Way Center. Schedule and more information here.

Driving
If staying at the hotel, parking is available at Patriot Parking, across the street from the hotel at 1305 Walnut Street, for $18.00/all day and $21.00/over night. There’s a paid parking lot across the street from the William Way Center if you’re not staying at the hotel. Street parking can be sparse in Center City, but is generally free all day Sunday. Saturday street parking has a two-hour limit.
