Single-Payer Debate on NPR

Yesterday, Dr. Steffie Woolhandler, of Physicians for a National Health Program, debated Robert Moffit, of the Heritage Foundation, on single-payer healthcare and healthcare reform on NPR’s Radio Times.

Here’s the NPR description and an MP3 of the hour-long debate.

When Barak Obama outlined his proposal for reforming the health care system, the concept of a single-payer system was once again left out of the equation. But there still is a strong and vocal voice for the concept. What is a single payer system and why is it, or isn’t, the solution to our health care crisis? Our guests are ROBERT MOFFIT of the Heritage Foundation and STEFFIE WOOLHANDLER of Physicians for a National Health Program.

When My Aunt went to france for her Colonostpy and they found Polups the entire Operation was under $3 Grand .And she noticed they didnt take 50 Tubes of Blood from Her and they Fixed a sore she had on her foot for 15 years and for some reason $$$$ The Americans doctors couldnt / wouldnt heal her .And that was healed by the FRENCH Doctors and now my Aunt takes walks that she couldnt before .And my Aunt spent thousands on her foot in 15 years , she even tried doing it herself .15 years of pain for nothing but Greed ! My Aunt had health care the Very Best and she went to France cheaper than her co-pay would of been ! Thats why she went ..and she said they couldnt help her foot and she didnt have faith they would help her with her colon .There would always be something else they would say she had .In France they dont Play Games .They fix what is wrong with you and no fooling around with paper work or blood samples .This HR676 is long over due .I dont want to be the 500th person to die from having no health care .I am a Tax payer and a health Care voter & That is why I voted for President Obama .I hope he keeps his promises .His girls got the dog I wish he would now keep the other promise he made Health Care Now ? HR676 would save 500 lives a day and more according to the World Health Org. they predicted that One Million People will Die in the USA this year from Lack of Health Care …when Peoples Health Care TOPS OUT and everyone has a cap and most dont realize that till it is too late and they are in the Grave .
