Now’s your chance to vote for the worst health insurance company of 2013!

The nominees are…

UnitedHealth for paying its CEO, Stephen Hemsley, $49 million last year.

Moda Health for paying $40 million for naming rights to the Portland Trailblazers arena.

Anthem Blue Cross for predatory premium increases even while announcing $2.7 billion in net profits.

And last but not least, Humana for charging women over 50% more than men for the same insurance plan.

The winner is up to you–so vote today!

We will be accepting votes until Tuesday, December 31st.

After that, we will announce the winner and a group of single-payer activists will present the award to the lucky winner.

Doing terrible things is business as usual for all health insurance companies in our healthcare system, we know. That’s why Healthcare-NOW!’s mission is to win expanded and improved Medicare for all–a healthcare system that’s completely free of for-profit health insurers.

    Worst. Is united healthcare. Denied $2000 worth of doctors claims saying they never received them…then said toooo late.

    We attended a presentation put on by Generations Healthcare where we were told that diabetic testing supplies would be provided with NO COPAY but after enrolling in their Medicare Advantage program found out that the blood glucose meter had to be purchased at our expense and that the insurance company would not pay. We have had other problems since enrolling and the policy has only been in effect for a couple of weeks. We have tried several times to get incorrect information on our membership cards straighten out with no luck and when we phone the customer service help number they are not able to find our doctor (which their sales rep recommended to us) but when we go to the Generations Healthcare website we can find our doctor information simply by entering his name on the “find a doctor” section. We have been told numerous times that our “case manager” would be contacting us to help sort these problems out but so far have heard nothing from anyone with regard to these problems. I would suggest that if you are looking for a Medicare Advantage HMO policy that you choose someone other than Generations Healthcare.
