What: Screening of Knock Down the House with Amy Vilela
When: Saturday, October 19, 7-9PM
Where: Eliot Chapel at the Eliot Center, 1011 SW 12th Ave, Portland, OR 97205.
Knock Down the House tells the incredible story of four women who ran for Congress in 2018, and took on the Party establishment. All four ran on Medicare for All, and one – Amy Vilela – came out of the single-payer healthcare movement, telling the story of her daughter Shalynne, who died after being turned away at a hospital emergency room for lacking health insurance.
Join us for a free screening of this powerful documentary, and speak with Amy Vilela afterwards about how we build a movement to win Medicare for All and the other basic human rights ignored by our political system.
Co-sponsored by Health Care for All Oregon and Portland Jobs with Justice.
