Sample Size: 504 New Jersey residents

Overall Findings: 71% strongly or somewhat support, 27% strongly or somewhat oppose, and 2% don’t know

Party Lines: 91% Democrats strongly or somewhat support, 42% Republicans strongly or somewhat support, 64% Independents support 

Summary: A 2022 New Jersey poll found that about 7 in 10 New Jerseyans support expanding Medicare to provide every U.S. resident with health coverage. The survey asked this question twice, replacing ‘Medicare’ with ‘current national program’ and still found a very similar result with 7 in 10 New Jerseyans supporting Medicare expansion.
