At Healthcare-NOW!, we are reminded daily, from letters, emails, and phone calls, that the healthcare crisis continues.
Holly from Nevada recently contacted us. She has Parkinson’s disease and is struggling to make ends meet on her disability income. There is no insurance on the market she can afford. Without her sister’s generosity, Holly is certain she would be on the street. She wrote to Healthcare-NOW! saying, “I want to help people and bring change for everyone, not just me.”
Holly, and many others, have joined the fight for single-payer healthcare, despite passage of health reform, because they know that half-measures will continue to leave out millions like them.

Recent actions show we make an impact.
In November, we held one of the most successful Healthcare-NOW! strategy conferences with single-payer advocates from 23 different states.
In December, we celebrated a victory over the the Deficit Commission’s failed recommendations to cut Medicare and Social Security.
Now, our advocates are working to develop campaigns to keep challenging corporate power and build the movement for single-payer, national healthcare.
Our budget is relatively small, but we have to raise at least $10,000 every month just to make payroll and meet operating expenses. Corporations, foundations, and mainstream liberal organizations won’t fund our work because we challenge the status-quo. So we need people like you to give what you can if we want to keep our national network of activists going and growing.
