Saving Medicare: Lessons from Canada (Video)

Did you know that U.S. could have saved more than $2.15 trillion on Medicare since 1980 had it employed cost-saving measures similar to Canada’s?

It’s true. Medicare spending on the elderly has grown nearly three times faster in the United States than in Canada since 1980. Costs grew more slowly in Canada despite a 1984 law banning co-payments and deductibles.

Watch our national webinar and conference call with Dr. Steffie Woolhandler of Physicians for a National Health Program on how Medicare in the U.S. could be preserved and strengthened by expanding it to everyone living in the United States.

You can download a PDF version of the slide here and just the audio of the webinar here.
