Obama sets up formal office for healthcare reform
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama set up an executive office for healthcare reform at the White House on Wednesday, saying the overhaul was one of the biggest priorities for the first year of his presidency.
Obama issued an executive order that says the U.S. healthcare system “suffers from serious and pervasive problems.”
The White House Office of Health Reform (Health Reform Office) will help the executive branch steer “the federal government’s comprehensive effort to improve access to health care, the quality of such care, and the sustainability of the health care system,” the order reads.
It also says the Secretary of Health and Human Services will create an Office of Health Reform to work with the White House office.
Obama has nominated former Clinton administration health official Nancy-Ann DeParle to lead the White House office. His nominee for Health and Human Services secretary is Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
The new office will help ensure that policymakers across the executive branch work toward Obama’s healthcare agenda, the order reads.
U.S. government economists predict that public and private health spending will hit $2.5 trillion this year, taking up a 17.6 percent share of gross domestic product.
Yet studies suggest Americans get poorer care than people in other industrialized countries that have national healthcare plans, and 46 million Americans have no health insurance at all.

They bring their Grandparents over here and they DRAW Social Security Checks & FOOD STAMPS and they never worked a day of their lives on American Soil !!! And yet the American Man worked all his LIFE and paid all HIS TAXES has to wait for 2 long long years to QUALIFY for DISABILITY !!! As he waits… HE looses EVERYTHING to MEDICAL BILLS and No way to PAY HIS Mortage !And then HE DIES ! Leaves his wife and kids alone & HOMELESS and at the Mercy of the State ! WAKE UP AMERICA ! American’s are being Erased and Replaced …are you next ?Read History about the Poor Houses and Poor Farms …Universal Health Care was needed back in the 1920’s !
This office is just to implement Obama’s Kennedy Plan that several have worked on for months. as the NYTimes has reported the meetings have been held in secret.

There is no secret of my Pain I would like to tell congress .I was wondering why I am sick and tired .I now know today I was sprayed with malithion for 7 years by 7 Planes Hired by Tennessee West to Spray for 7 years .I lived at the end of the Airport and I was sprayed daily .I can not find a lawyer to help me or any Doctor .I go to the Human Services and they tell me to have a baby to get State Help and then I call the White House today and the Lady tells me to go to Human Services and I already know because I have moved to Texas and I went months back and they tell me the same .I am so Invisable …I might as well have never been born .I want to go to Congress and tell them about 2 other Health Care Horror stories …I would like to know if President Obamas daughters had to suffer what I have what would President do then ? or his Wife Michelle ? or His Mother .Or the powerful Kennedys ?Please let me have 10 Minutes of time in Congress just 10 Minutes is all I need …

care 4 all Thank You ! I emailed them and wrote my story .I was so mad yesterday when I called the White House and that woman told me to see the Human Services ! OMGOD ! I wanted to Yell at her ! But I held my cool and I told her the story of when I did go and what they tell me ..not just in one state but 2 ! It is enough to make me want to hang myself in front of the White House ! But then I wouldnt be here fighting these EVIL DOOERS !!! Really I would LOVE to see all the CEO’s of the Health Care co.’s be Hanging on the White House Lawn or Beheaded ! I would like to cut ones head off ! it would Liberate me ! I would not have one ounce of Quilt ! matter of fact it would make me feel like I was in control ,at last !
I am sorry to all who read if I sound Bitter …I am very Bitter and I hurt in my heart ! I cant stop crying ….I cant stop thinking about what they did to me and what they did to me in the past .I think of all the people who have no voice who sit in the dark alone and afraid and they cant VENT like me .And they are sick and no one cares for them …Well I do ! We already have enough government intrusion in our lives without the government permitting only one choice of health care insurance coverage.
I see many comments from people complaining about “big insurance”. Creating “bigger government” is NOT the answer. HR 676 will eliminate options.
Monopolies are not good for anyone! Even if the government is the monopoly.
Clarence, I’ve had private insurance through employers and have had to use Medicaid. I don’t find that I’ve had anymore freedom with “Choice” providers than I do with Medicaid. It really isn’t all that restrictive. Problem with it is that they are so cheap, that they don’t reimburse the docs and medical professionals enough. As for Eliza Jane Dodd, I never did get the feeling when hearing Obama speak of his mother’s death, that he really cared all that much about her. In fact, his mother and grandparents were instrumental in his life and you really never hear him talk about them at all. Has he discounted them altogether? I’m not sure what message he’s trying to relay to folks, but I’m nobody’s fool.
