May 22: Healthcare-NOW! Fundraiser and Film Screening
If you’re in the Philadelphia, PA area, please join Healthcare-NOW! on Saturday, May 22nd for an office warming party and a screening of The Yes Men Fix the World.
The Yes Men Fix the World is a screwball true story about two gonzo political activists who, posing as top executives of giant corporations, lie their way into big business conferences and pull off the world’s most outrageous pranks.
Armed with little more than cheap thrift-store suits, the Yes Men squeeze raucous comedy out of all the ways that corporate greed is destroying the planet.
Donna Smith, who was featured in Michael Moore’s SiCKO, now a single-payer advocate with National Nurses United, will be joining us to lead a discussion on single-payer and challenging corporate power.
A $10 donation is requested and lunch will be provided. All proceeds go to support Healthcare-NOW! at the US Social Forum.
Also, if you join Healthcare-NOW! you’ll receive a copy of the Yes Men DVD.
