Howard Dean: ‘I Don’t Think We Should Impose Single-Payer On Everybody’
Some political pundits have portrayed former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) as a wacky liberal caricature, whose online supporters spam blog comment sections in favor of single-payer health care. But during an exclusive interview with ThinkProgress, Dean described parts of his own health care philosophy as conservative.
Rather than advocating for a broad overhaul of the health care system, for instance, Dean argued that we can build on what works in our current system and reform health care by giving Americans the choice of keeping their existing insurance plan or enrolling in a new public option.
Dean predicted that more Americans would chose a public plan, but he ultimately argued against a single-payer proposal:

I really hate the idea from ThinkProgress, done in kinda a Fox News, “Some people are saying” manner that if you add your comments onto a blog in support of single payer you are “Spamming.” That is ridiculous. Blogs have comments to encourage debate and participation. Adding to the debate is not spam. Shame on ThinkProgress for trying to smear the single payer movement. Many love Dean for the good work he did at the DNC but he is just one voice. It would be nice if they would mention the high support for single payer among the general population and in the medical profession. But I guess that woudln’t help along their Centrism-uber alles agenda. Its time for all of us to focus on why single payer is the only sensible reform — it is the only reform that cuts out the rot that has been killing our healthcare system – the wasteful, corrupt, and self-interested private health insurers.

A few days ago on GMA they had a Doctor on saying if you dont have Health Care because you lost your job then go to the Department of Human Services , they will help you .Well that is the Biggest LIE I have ever heard ! And that Doctor on Good Moring America should come with me ALL LIve with GMA TV Crew and Listen to what they tell me and other women like me .I was told when I had HBV I had caught at work & after the workmens comp Doctors gave me steriods for it .(Trying to kill me )anyway the Women at the Department of Human Services said to me I dont look that bad ! I was totally Yellow ..even my scalp ..She said Why dont you get pregnant and THEN you can get state care (HELP) .I had Sun Glasses on because I was so ashmaed of my YELLOW EYE BALLS not to mention my YELLOW Scalp ! Have a BABY ! I had HBV !!!These people TALKING about Health Care on TV havent a CLUE ! They are IDIOTS ! All of them ! I have emailed all TV Stations asking why dont they talk about HR676 ? I NEVER get a return email or phone call .Just to Prove my CASE >>>People with no health care ARE INVISABLE it is like being ERASED from LIFE ! After my Health Department Horror story I have talked to lots of other women about the Dept. Of Human Services and They tell ALL the WOMEN that >To Have a BABY to get HELP from the state ! It is a SLAP in the Face to Women ! And I also get ERASED from ALL Bloggs and POSTS I make on HR676 Universal Health Care .
I had BCBS of Tennessee Cobra …and I paid $7,500 a Year @ 17 years .I went to the Primary …to get reffered .he wanted me to go to the GASTRO I was 40 ..they Gastro was NEW ..I had to scream at the Primary I hurt down here in FRONT ! Not in the rear ! And so I got a OBGYN and he have me VIOXX and when that didnt work he gave me Narcotics and when that didnt work he gave me LIQUID Narcotics …it took my husband calling him at home at night to tell him to do something for me or tonight I would be coming to his house so he could hear me cry ! The next day I went in and I got a Ultra sound and it broke off inside of me …then I got a OPERATION and they found I had CANCER and removed it .I went back for after care This Rude Dr.asked me was I going to live ! I never went back ….It took 3 months of begging and enduring horrific pain ! I paid that $7500 @ 17 years and only used it ONE TIME and the SURGERY was Out Patient …means I went home a few hours after my operation ..alone to take care of myself ..with No Pain Meds either ! One Time in 17 years ! and I was treated like that ! That Operation was only $3,400 for all of it ! Do the math !!! I have and I got ripped off ! and abused when I did try to use it .It was like a nightmarish Alice in Wonderland and everyone is on LSD but me and I cant get HELP when I needed it …

Can you believe it?—I actually worked for Obama full time and this is what we get–not even a seat at the table and doctors and nurses arrested for even advocating single-payer. I am 64 with several serious medical issues that need attention. I don’t have health care. All I want is what he and Michelle have. I could just cry. Let’s get rid of all the bums in Congress–starting with Sen. Max “I can’t get enough insurance money” Baucus.
Okay. So the liberal Obama craze has proved to be the fraud the Left said it would be, now what?
