Former Health Insurance Exec. on Bill Moyers this Week

This week on the Journal, Bill Moyers sits down with Wendell Potter, former health insurance industry executive turned health care reform advocate. Potter discusses what he calls the hijacking of health care by insurance companies and discusses the obstacles they present to health care reform.

Great show, and thank you Potter for offering evidence that supports what many have thought. How do I influence a change? I’ve contacted my congressman and senators, and state’s health insurance commissioner. No confidence there, especially since how DC works is with where the money is. I don’t have the money to payoff politicians to get their attention like the insurance companies and their lobbyists can do. I did exercise my right to vote for politicians I thought would represent me. It’s not happening though. So, what else can a person do? Are we destined to have an industry where the “customers” come last? We must not continue with what has not worked.
