In this time of strong economic uncertainty, while Medicare and Medicaid are under attack and states across the country are balancing their budgets on the backs of the working class, you have remained committed to fighting for universal and equitable healthcare reform.
We cannot thank you enough for your championing of Medicare for all, but we would like to try.
To show our heartfelt thanks, we are inducting everyone who donates any amount into our newly restructured membership system.
As an official member of Healthcare-NOW! you will receive:
– invitations to monthly national single-payer activist conference calls.
– access to updated single-payer resources and materials.
– invitations to leadership training sessions.
– discounted registration to Healthcare-NOW!’s National Strategy Conference in November.
– a free Healthcare-NOW! t-shirt or John Geyman’s book “Hijacked!” for those who join at $40 or more (starting today).
July 30th will mark the 46th anniversary of the passage of Medicare, and we are celebrating with dozens of public events in cities across the country. Last year we had events in 21 cities, and we’d like to double that this summer.
For every $1 you contribute, we’ll be able to send one “Medicare is the solution not the problem!” sign to a Healthcare-NOW! activist organizing an event this July. Can you contribute now to help us reach our goal of $5,000?
To remain a member in good standing, we ask you to donate any amount at least once every twelve months. Will you join today? We encourage those, who are able, to donate $40 annually, but, as always, we want to impose no financial barriers to membership and simply ask you to donate what you can.
With the help of our supporters, single-payer advocates would never have been able to: stop the Deficit Commission from sending their proposal to cut Medicare and Medicaid to Congress, get the AFL-CIO to publicly endorse national single-payer legislation, support Vermont on its path to single-payer healthcare and much, much more.
