Action Alert: Your Vote is Needed

As you may know, the United Nations’ Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process will examine the United States’ human rights record this November. To make sure that people’s voices are heard throughout this process, the U.S. Human Rights Network created the Testify Project, where individuals all over the country upload videos documenting human rights abuses in their communities and suggesting solutions to the U.S. government.

Healthcare-NOW! members have submitted three testimonial videos addressing economic and social rights. Now all we need is your votes! (deadline is 8/23 at 1pm (E). The individual who wins the contest wins a trip to Geneva to participate in the UPR.

Ways of voting:

Testify Project Website: Go to www.ushrnetwork.org/testify and if you leave a comment on any of the videos it counts as a vote. So click the blue quote box in the top right corner of the video you would like to vote for.

Facebook: Either create a new account or use an existing account. Then, go to www.facebook.com/TestifyProject. Once there watch our videos and click “Like” to vote. (You can vote for as many as you want so “Like” all of them)

YouTube: Either create a new account or use an existing account. Then
go to www.youtube.com/group/TestifyToTheUN. Find our videos listed on the column to the right, click the video and it should open at the top of the column. Underneath the video click “I love it”. (You can vote for as many as you want)

Voting ends Monday, August 23, at 1 pm (EST) so please vote ASAP, and thanks for contributing.
