Action Alert: Make Pelosi Keep Her Promise on Single-Payer
Today, 12 brave activists were arrested because they entered Nancy Pelosi’s office in California to get some answers.
They wanted to know why she broke her promise to hold votes on two single-payer amendments this fall.
They weren’t leaving until the single-payer amendments were put back on the table.
Pelosi refused to speak to them. They were arrested for disrupting business as usual.

It is axiomatic that a democracy requires a vigorous middle class. Unfortunately, our middle class is dying. America has the highest wealth and income inequality by far than any of the industrialized countries: The top 1% has more wealth than the bottom 90%. The median household income has virtually flat lined the last 30 years; while United Health Care’s CEO Helmsly makes $102,000 an hour. Under these circumstances, a democracy cannot be sustained. Just look what happened to Single-Payer Health Reform–completely off the table,first under Baucus, then under Pelosi. I believe that Medicare for All would save the middle class and possibly help us reclaim our democracy.
Pelosi sold us out! We need to support a candidate next fall to replace her and get a House Speaker who will stand up for progressive ideals.
We must get through to our representatives and Mrs. Polosi – ther must be health care for all Americans……single payor is the only way to go and save money. What is being discussed now with cost a fortune – not cover most – and is programmed and doomed to fail: just what the insurance companies want.
