A Single Payer Possibility (video)

From GRITtv

We’ve all heard the story about Medicare. That once upon a time, about 40 years ago, it was an idea that had very little support and that many said would never succeed. Well, it did and many are saying it should serve as a model for a single payer healthcare system. With that in mind, a single payer proposal will finally be discussed on the floor of congress when members of the house reconvene in September.

Dr. David Scheiner, President Obama’s former physician, Rep. Anthony Weiner of New York’s 9thdistrict, Bob Fertik, founder of Democrats.com on whether single payer will ever really be on the table. Scheiner says the argument that a government run program will stand in the way of you and your doctor is a myth. Private health insurance not medicare stands in the way. The less care they give the better their profits.

We need single payer. Life is more important than profit. We cant just sit and take it any more. WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR WHAT WE KNOW IS RIGHT!!! Why cant my tax dollars pay for my healthcare, we send men to the moon and now we want to send them to Mars…..PLEASE lets take care of each other first. I have friends, family and neighbors with no health care at all. I myself have a great plan (for now). I would gladly pay extra taxes every week to know that we are all covered. ONE NATION UNDER GOD (RIGHT)

I was in a chain pharmacy one evening when a tall, blond, rather elegant looking woman was pleading with the pharmacist to at least let her have a few pills of her prescription until she could try to get money from family and friends in the morning to cover the fee of
$133. They refused her plea though she was gasping for her every breath and I have yet to erase the terror in her eyes that this refusal would cost her her life. She had spent 3 hours in the Emergency room in distress she explained, and had to walk out without compassion. I had offered to pay for part of the prescription but was refused as well.
Single Payer Health Care … Universal Health Care … would avoid such humiliation, suffering and untimely death.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your and others’ efforts on behalf of the American people.
    Respectfully,
    Florence Polverino

We need to build pressure on the Congress to vote for Single Payer in the House.

Or a really strong Public Option and yes what if its true if we slowly or even quickly put Private Insurance out of business, I doubt anybody that’s not connected would shed a tear.

Remember the Swiss Pharma makers don’t care that they have Public Health Care in Switzerland, they are too busy gauging us. They can’t do it to Canadians or Mexicans or in most of Europe, leaves the Good Ole United States, the cash cow of the industrialize world.

Save for Feinstien who would get on board anyway, the problem of course is the MIDDLE of the COUNTRY and Deep South. We have already said in California we need Single Payer, only the Govenator stopped that, so the social and political will in California is THERE.

All of you progressives in other parts of America have some serious work do to.
