no surrender summer web

From huge cuts to Medicaid to rising prescription drug prices and skyrocketing insurance premiums, make no mistake, there is a War on Health in this country. Millions are struggling with a system that was always insufficient and has somehow grown even worse over the past few years.

More and more Americans are seeing what's going on and refusing to accept the status quo. Across the country, voters are making it clear that we need Medicare for All -- and we're not going to stop until we get it!

That's why we're gearing up for No Surrender Summer, three whole months of action. There will be vigils, rallies, delegations, trainings, a huge celebration for Medicare's birthday in July, and even some small steps you can take in less than five minutes! No matter who you are and where you are, there's a way to plug in.

We'll be updating our this page with more chances for you to get in on the action!

JULY 30: Medicare for All National Day of Action

The 61st birthday of Medicare is coming up, and we are celebrating the best way we know how: taking action for healthcare justice!

Healthcare NOW is a proud cosponsor of this year's July 30th Medicare for All National Day of Action! On July 30, people across the country will take action at congressional offices to honor the civil rights organizers who fought to win Medicare -- and remind elected officials that we are going to keep up the fight until we fully realize their vision for justice in our healthcare system.

Your U.S. Representative needs to hear the message that now is the time for Medicare for All! If you want to make sure they do, you can volunteer to host an action .here!

You don't have to have any experience to host an action, and it's not hard to do. You'll get training on how to do it, all the materials you'll need, and help recruiting other people in your area to attend your event.

Stay tuned for more ways you can join in the action!

Seven Days in June Week of Action!

No Surrender Summer kicked off with Seven Days in June: Health is Primary, a national week of action (June 1–7) spearheaded by human rights and HIV/AIDS activist Cleve Jones. Communities across the country came together to rally against massive proposed healthcare budget cuts and demand that political candidates commit to protecting public health and safety-net programs. Even Lin Manuel Miranda, Noah Wiley, and Marc Antony got involved to support the cause! You can read more about a few of the actions:

Make sure to check out our Medicare for All Podcast interview with Cleve Jones about the week of action and how we build compassion around healthcare justice this summer and beyond!
