I used my Medicare Advantage plan to help me buy new glasses–it paid only 200$ and I paid 585. I had not bought new glasses for about 3 years. I was told that the charge made on that day did not qualify as I had used my limit. I objected and quoted what’d read qualified. I got a fat large letter of some ~15 pages and did not read more than the first sentence for 2 weeks. When I read it I learned that it was an apology. It said that Medicare makes them always reject such claims (does not explain why in any way that makes sense) and closed with another apology. It cost 1.92$ to send. WHY???
