This also is just to let you know that I have been trying to promote single payer in the following ways:

I have called my three congress men, Rep. Dave Obey, Senators Feingold and Kohl to support HR676, S703, the Weiner, Kucinich and Sanders amendments. Their assistants indicated they would refer the message to the Congress men. Not sure about "phone by internet". I have my phone unplugged and my computer plugged into the phone jack when it is in use.

It's not very promising because all three have indicated they will not support single payer. Obey and Feingold are supposed to be progressive democrats!! I have written to them, emailed them many times and expressed my sentiments at Feingold's "listening sessions" and the results are negative. Feingold says there isn't any support for single payer in the Senate. I said to him, there is when you support it!

The local newspaper is a Republican rag and it's very difficult to get a democratic or progressive opinion editorial published. However, the local Shoppers Guide and News, which has about the same circulation as the newspaper, has a op ed page and is run by a Democrat. I have had two op eds published supporting single payer Medicare for All in the Shoppers Guide.

Miracles happen, there is Medicare.
